i only played these until the one with Colonial America, but tell me, did they continue with the lore of the advanced race at all in the others that came after? or was that plotline dropped?
Trines 1 - 5.
Yes, I used to diss platformers as well, but with the gameing industries insistance on giving us crap thats boring if it even works, I gave them a try, and actually found some of these to be enjoyable.
They did, all the way up through AC Valhalla, where Precursor race flashbacks play a MAJOR role (haven't played Mirage yet).
Closest Assassin's Creed came to Arkham style combat was Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
Blashemous 1 & 2, an both Ori games I recomended are Platformers. Had I not tried Limbo & Inside, I might still not be a platformer enjoyer either.
Not trying to force you, if you don't like them you don't like them, but if your are up for trying, i'd start with Limbo & Inside, Nobody here mentioned the telltale Batman games, good in a pinch for story, but the Arkham games are better. ANY of these games that myself and others recommended you should watch playthroughs, I know in the first 5 minutes or less if its my type of game or not.
I'm totally getting this one.

Care to be more specific than just a subjective "good"?
What exactly are you looking for that's like this game? What elements do you want more of? Similar gameplay? Tone? Story? Setting? Expand on that rather than engagement fishing by getting recommendations you'll just say no to
