*SPOILERS* Seriously Rocksteady?!
SPOILERS BELOW:

Okay, I just had to say, I am seriously pissed off that they killed off Poison Ivy in this Game! Not only this was because she was one of my favorite characters in the Arkhamverse, but because her actions were so out of character in this story arc.

I will give a list of the actions that were out of character for Poison Ivy:

Her drastic transformation from Arkham Asylum to Arkham Knight:

Asylum: Poison Ivy hates humans, kills a bunch of them, and destroys Arkham Asylum.
City: Poison Ivy hates humans and plans to kill more because Catwoman broke her plant.
Knight: Poison Ivy gives up her life to save a bunch of humans.

Notice something wrong there?

Ivy giving herself up to save Gotham:

NO, just no. Poison Ivy would rather see Gotham turn to ash, not herself turn to ash as a consequence for SAVING the city that she oh so loathes!

One would say, "Oh but she did it for the plants!", this is a fair argument, but it is just not right. You see, the real Ivy would have packed bags away from Gotham, not remained there to protect her plants.

And I think we all know that the only human Poison Ivy would ever save is Harley, which was shown in Harley Quinn issue #1.

(Okay, I may have forgot to add the Robinson Park Orphanage arc)

Oh I don't know anymore... I am just so pissed that she is dead. Whats next, are they gonna kill off Harley Quinn also?! :(

Question: Is the story in the Arkham games considered canon in the Batman universe?

How do you know she is dead? She broke of into bits and just disappeared. There was no body. Maybe she transformed in to seeds and blew away in the wind to regrow or her dna was absored by her plants to protect her so they could regrow her again when they are strong enough.

She didn't gave herself up to save Gotham or humans, she did it to save her plants from dying.

And after doing what she did in Arkham city i.e. to break Catwoman into that vault underground, I don't see how this is surprising at all. She would do anything to save her plants, doesn't matter what happens to humans in the process.

Nothing of what she did was for the humans.

Also, she didn't die.

Go back to that spot under the tower. You'll see something new growing :D

Arkham Knight was written by a different person. Paul Dini wroth Asylum and City. The change in writters was pretty obvious as this felt a bit off from what Dini's plot(s) were aiming at.

She actually doesnt care about anything else but her plants. If she needs to co-op with Batman to save them, save the citizens of Gotham or sacrifice herself, she will do it. She hate humans for everything they've done to mother nature. But she will never sacrifice her lovely plants, ever. So I think her plot in AK was really faithful to her comic/animated series character.
pretty sure she did everything because her plants were dying due to the toxin, still, i'm pissed off too.
this game was obviously written (poorly) by someone else, no way in hell would batman try to save any of the villains in this game, he would need to be the craziest of them all
