Introducing an updated KOTOR II for Mac, Linux, and Windows!!!
Aspyr in partnership with Disney/Lucas is proud to announce STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II - The Sith Lords™ is now available on Mac and LInux, along with a massive update to all 3 platforms.

New features include:

• 37 achievements to be earned through gameplay
• Steam Cloud saves
• Native widescreen resolution support
• Resolution support up to 4K and 5K
• Support for controllers, including Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation
3, and Playstation 4, along with several others (check the system requirements for details)
• Steam Workshop support! We proudly worked with the Restored Content Mod team to have their famous TSLRCM up on launch day

Oh...and we added a "Force Speed Effects" option in the menu ;)

Chime in here with your thoughts on the update! I will be starting seperate forums for both Technical Support and Workshop Mods shortly.

Why did we do this? Because we LOVE KOTOR 2. But lets all remember what love truly is...Love is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope.

#1 did nice with flawless widescreen. i was excited to go back and play #2 again after the update, but the gui was gigantic.

Ok. Gave it a try and it's exactly as I feared. The text DOESN'T scale. Still gets miniature and eye-pain inducing at high resolutions. 10 € down the drain... :-(
Really don't understand how someone can play this at 4K resolution.
That's... odd. That's how it used to be when forcing resolutions through modding, but ever since the update I and pretty much everyone else have had perfect scaling. UI and words were just as big at 4K as they were at 1024x768.

To clarify, by text size, I mean the font size of the text. The conversation letterboxing and the UI could be scaled properly, I haven't examined that. However, when going 1024x768 to 3840×2160, the font size is (subjectively) most definitely NOT the same. This is a deal breaker at such conversation-focused game. Would post some screens to show the font size difference but fortunately, I was already issued a refund...

A friend of mine checked when I saw you mention that it hadn't scaled for you, and he said it definitely scaled for him. Font and HUD were the same size at both 3840x2160 and 1024x768. How peculiar.

Something is wrong Vlad, the font scales with the update. Give us a shout at support.aspyr.com so we can dig in a bit.

Basically, no plans now but probably sometime in the future. Which I hate because I like to play games in ORDER and I'd love to have an updated KotOR like the second one. I know it takes a lot of effort, but I'm not sure why they don't just "do it". Heck get some funding if they really need/want it I just want my KotOR to be updated like the second as that's what I'm going to be playing, not the second one.

Um... I know that. My comment was more-so about WHY THEY DON'T, and in fact why they didn't the second one instead of the first, which i also wonder about. They did it for KotOR II, why not the first one, I just don't get it.

the people who did the second one are not in control of the first one. they don't have the rights to it.
