Doesn't affect anything significant in this game anyway.
For example: on one planet, you can optionally find a Sith holocron, but you are only actually able to view what is recorded on if if you said that you were a Dark Side character in the first game at the prompt near the beginning of the story.
Also, depending on which gender you said your KotOR 1 character was (and therefore which love interest could have been unlocked in the first game), there are minor scenes of one of the K1 party NPCs speaking about your character from the first game.
If you really care, the official canon was that you were a Light Side male in the first game and a Light Side female in the second game until Disney declared pretty much everything aside from the movies and Clone Wars series to be non-canon.
