Cut Content DLC
The Switch version is being advertised to get an official DLC release of cut content, any chance this will come to the PC version?

Lots of the cut content didn't have much context to it, so some of it the modders created their own interpretation of the quests and dialogue while implementing it. It's not 100% official content that's restored, some the modders had to make their own judgement calls on it when implementing it. It's not like these cut quests had a bunch of information saying things like "this quest was intended as x y or z and the repercussions was gonna be x y and z, etc", much of it was just pieces of cut dialogue that the modders implemented on their own and interpreted on their own what the quest was gonna be.

Right, but that's also all the information current IP holder would have to work with, bits and pieces of old game files, maybe bits of information from interviews with writers or developers that have trickled out stuff like, "We initially wanted to do this but we had to cut that bit because..." or "We had an idea to maybe do this or that but wound up not implementing it."

And modders have already been at the restoration work for what, 16 years at this point? I don't think there's any different unimplemented but partially still there bits to reconstruct. Yeah, another modder - or developer - might stitch together those bits slightly differently but I don't think it's going to be truly new content. If you've played TSLRP+M4-78 I think you've seen all there is to see.

Yeah. Lucasfilm games has access to the game's design documents and all other stuff that modders don't have.

The restored content dlc is just the TSLRCM mod, you can easily download it.

they should add this to the PC version as well.

They probably would have had a big announcement on the forum page if the dlc was coming to the pc version, right?

Or I wonder if we can expect some sort of official release down the road?

hoping for the last one. I mean, they surprised us before with that last patch years after launch.

I'd rather have real cut content from the developers. I do not care for mods to be honest. do not trust them.
This is just silly and incredibly ignorant. Modding is a core part of PC gaming and it's identity.

It's safe. You can trust it. It's great.

I’ve been trying to say this, but people seem to be oblivious to the Workshop’s existence and DeadlyStream - the mod might as well already be a part of the game - it’s essential!

I'm just worried that if the "cut content DLC" is officially brought over to Steam (is that the right phrase I want to use?) and the game is updated, it might break the mod / require restart / etc etc.

I thought the name Aspyr sounded familiar. I checked, and they ported KOTOR I and II to android, and also did Jade Empire. Except they decided to not patch JE to work with modern android versions. I remember that their response at the time was something like "Yes, we know it doesn't work. No, we're not going to do anything to fix it, now or in the future. Request a refund."

I checked and it appears to have vanished from the Google Play store completely, but that was the status quo for years. I wonder if I uninstalled it from my old tablet if I would ever be able to get it back.

It's still available on the amazon app store, but according the reviews hasn't worked since 2018.

i might be wrong here but isnt the restored content already on the steam version in the workshop???? maybe its something different but check out the workshop for KOTOR2 i believe its called "TSLRSM" there are a couple versions for language and also another version that also adds a new planet that was cut.... i believe that one is called TSLRSM + M4-78EP.... like i said i might be wrong but if you read the description to each of the mods it says that it is cut content that was suppose to be in the game but did not make it because of pushed release... check it out :) check out the workshop too for other mods some are pretty neat... also if someone else already said this comment sorry i didnt read through them all just saw the first couple....

I'm pretty confident that this "cut content dlc" is just the TSLRC mod. This game is 19 years old, so I would keep your expectations in check.
We have the mod on PC already and it's going to be free DLC for the Switch, how is this so confusing?
