Are Assassination and Courier missions worth it?

Ok so I'm something like 18 hours into the game, and I feel like I'm proceeding kinda slowly cause I tend to complete all the possible side quests before advancing to the next main mission. I kinda enjoy homestead missions as well as the hunting and frontiersman ones. The thing is, I can't see the point of completing the assassination and courier quests, I feel like they're just a way of earning extra money and stuff but give nothing in return regarding side story and stuff. Should I just skip them and only go on with the other ones like homestead and frontiersman?

Actually I'm only interested in covering the main story as well as the "side" one belonging for example to homestead so I think I'll skip them. Thank you very much!

Yeah Homestead Navel and Benedict Arnold quests are really the only side quests worth doing. I say naval in genereal cause most of them are pretty good other than the ones to clear trade risk but I do those as well so I can use ships for trade.

You need to finish them if you want to reach 100% progression

Really having fun with the naval battles indeed, I would have never expect that.
