DOOM 3: BFG Edition no full screen mode
Is there already a solution for this? It only opens in windowed mode, and if i try to change that in the game, there is no option for it (full screen only disabled). If i launch it with "+set r_fullscreen 1" it simply doesn' start. Combatibility options and disabling high DPI scaling didn't help. It's really disappointing and ridiculous... is there any hope to make this work?

Specs: Nvidia GTX 980M, i7-6700 HQ, Windows 10 (64)

This may happen if you have TV connected or any display which can't handle 60 Hz video mode.

Try "+set r_fullscreen 3" btw.

Thanks, but it didn't work. It's a laptop, the refresh rate is 75Hz.

Try opening the config file located here:

C:\Users\m\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM 3 BFG\base

adjust these lines try 1280x960 too start with

set r_customHeight "720"
set r_customWidth "1280"
set r_fullscreen "1"
set r_vidMode "12" change this to -1 and you can change res to anything you like

save file and set to read only.

Also another thing to try is RBDoom 3 bfg

Thank you for your advice, unfortunately if the "set r_fullscreen" value isn't "0", the game doesn't start at all. I've also tried BRDoom 3 bfg, the problem was the same. But thanks anyway, the problem seems to be solved by the Borderless Gaming application.

Not sure if your'e having the same problem but I fixed my fullscreen issues by going to doom 3, setting it to my resolution there, then going back out to doom 1/2 :)

Try to disable windows full screen optimizations in exe properties.
