WASD Movement Please
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HATE arrow movement.
How do I change my movement to WASD.
The game lets you change all the other keys that aren't movement.
Please Halp.

You could try Autohotkey, no idea if there's a way to rebind movement directly by tinkering with some config files or something

I've been digging to try to find out what files to manipulate all day
I'll make a post if I can figure it out.
Gotta get programs to open and change 3 different kinds of files.
This is definitely a process.
I've never worked with autohotkey before, I'll try that at some point if I can't figure out the file manipulation.

The game settings (including key bindings) are saved in "doc.sv". However, I doubt that you can set WASD for movement there. The key codes for arrow keys are 37-40 (25-28 in hexadecimal). None of those values appear in my file, so it doesn't look like the key bindings for movement are saved there explicitely. Though it's possible they are saved in a different way, maybe as a byte that determines whether arrow keys or WASD is used.
But if the devs had programmed it that way, they would have most likely added an in-game option to switch between those input methods.

However, editing the file in a hex editor allows for some interesting things, like:
- unlocking exceed difficulty + stages (1-5 + extra) in practice mode
- using multiple gamepad buttons for the same action
- setting the music/FX/voice volume to arbitrary values, instead of multiples of 5

I can confirm that keyboard movements are fully hardcoded to arrow keys and numpad 24568, you won't find any hidden settings for them.

So I'm just going to have to find an external way to do it. :shockedbs: :ragebs: :bloodstain2:
Thanks everybody for the assistance :) <3 :Bsha_VII:
