The performance is really good
Im running a 4070 laptop with an AMD 7840HS with 32gb ram and I have everything maxed out with no DLSS and I haven't gone below 60fps once.

Although I know that this is still being released for last gen consoles, this has done wonders for PC. They have never done especially impressive job with adapting their games to PC expectations in other areas but I cannot deny that I have seen slow but certain improvements as time has gone on.

Upscaling and frame generation are just the tip of the iceberg. I am relieved for the wider PC community that AMD got their version of those things into their game, because honestly none of the cards that can use DLSS frame generation even need it for this game.

With my 4070 ti I have no problem at 1440p holding a perfect capped 120fps max settings with quality DLSS and no frame generation. The only reason I'm not using DLSS frame gen is because it breaks looting for some reason. I have no idea what looting and frame generation have to do with eachother but it is true.

The point is that if their games are already performing this efficiently, this is hopeful for the future when RGG get working on a title that is truly for the current or next generation of consoles.
Dude with 4070 Ti you don't even need DLSS to play 120 FPS 1440p.
To be fair you are right. I am no egghead but I theorised that using DLSS to go overkill on a frame cap that I am already nailing would further keep my fan speeds in the green. Correct me if I am wrong because I am definitely no expert.

So much is a 4070 ti an overkill card for the game, it is so much so that I wouldn't be surprised if this was also a smartphone release in the near future.

I'm playing on a 4070 i9 13900hx laptop once I'm done work.

Just using my break time to make sure that everything is working and cranking everything up to max.

Going to try with DLSS and Frame Generation off.

My tropical-themed highball glasses arrived this morning too :)

Is that a Lenovo 7i Pro laptop?

5i Pro
Works great with DLAA and everything maxed native. Glad to see like every upscaler supported out the gate too. Puts other developers to shame. They have been doing good lately. I will try it on a handheld later but other reports are that it runs good there too.
Well talking about the other side of the spectrum it works very well (so far so good) at low settings on my laptop:
GTX 1060M (6gb dedicated), i7 7th gen, 16GB RAM, 1080p, 30fps I don't see any deeps in frame rate at all so rather good optimization for the day of release, although animations look a bit dated

If you're using low setting, try using 60 fps.
With FSR 3 and highest settings it is running well on the ROG Ally. Very impressed.
Folks who discuss performance without bothering to mention what resolution they're using...

For the record, a 3080 isn't good enough to run this game on max at 4K60. Pretty startling. It doesn't look any better than Gaiden, which I was able to run without DLSS except on the ship.

I suppose it's not surprising that a newer game will have a newer baseline but it's nonetheless hard not to come away thinking that they threw in some unoptimized tweaks and decided to just assume that folks would turn to DLSS if they needed to. That new filter they're using... the one that's supposed to look like some kind of specular map but actually just makes things look superpixelated and almost retro... I imagine that's adding to the workload a lot. Hopefully somebody will mod it so that it at least doesn't look as ugly as it currently does.
its funny how everyone here talks about game being optimized while using top notch gpus lmao
sure its optimized but dont you think your system is a little too overkill for a yakuza game

Dude, an up-optimized game will struggle to run 60 fps even with a 4090 and 7800X3D.

Playing the game with max settings at 3840 x 2160 with 60FPS
The game works amazing and i didnt saw any bugs (except for the language bug, which is easily solved with just saving and loading)
Its nice to see a new release for pc without any performance problems
I think you can do 120 FPS. I use 3070 and 5600, 1440p ultra setting 120 FPS, no frame drop.
Sadly my tv doesn't support 120hz but thanks for the info
More or less. For some reason, rain (Hawaii only) causes bizarre performance issues that might force you to restart the game in order to fix it.

The crazy delivery minigame also has some massive frame drops for no apparent reason

Thanks, it works similarly well at 60fps :)
Heck, I'm running a 1660 TI and the game is running absolutely amazing.
not in my case.
when raining the fps drop a lot and I have to restart the game.
sometimes after playing some time the performance drops for no reason and I have to restart the game. it is not a temperature problem, it have a memory leak or something like that. It started to happen when I came to hawai.
