AKA to earn favor you just need to complete each quest on "Elite" difficulty.
As you earn Favor you will unlock some free rewards in the game.
400 Total Favor (Drow Race) (Per server)
1,000 Total Favor (Veteran Status 1 (per server) (Lets you start new characters at level 4)
1,750 Total Favor Champion Status (lets you make characters with 32 points of point buy from now on and this character recieves a +2 stat tome of your choice)
2,500 Total Favor Favored Soul (Class unlock of Favored Soul on this server)
3,000 Total Favor Veteran Status 2 (per server) (Lets you start new characters at level 7)
5,000 Total Favor Revered (+5 Stat Tome of your choice)
As for Cash Shop Currency You receive 25 DDO points every 100 favor you earn in game. You will also receive one time bonus DDO points the first time you hit 5,25,50,500,1000,2000,3000,4000,5000, and 6000 total favor (Per Server) (So yes you can make a character on every server to get that first time DDO points favor rewards)
Content in the game is separated into Quest Packs which you purchase with DDO points from the DDO store.
There is a total of 1,622 total possible Favor to earn for Free in DDO
This means you should focus on spending DDO points you earn on purchasing Quest Packs. As these quest packs will in turn provide more favor for you to aquire which will earn you more DDO points.
If there is a class or race you need(besides Drow, never buy Drow) then you should either buy it directly or pay for the monthly subscription.
Free to Play will feel restrictive simply due to the 15 years of content this game has put out. However the Free content available is actually still pretty good and enjoyable. And by the time you finish it you will have earned enough ddo points to buy more content packs.
(Note DDO has given away most of the quest packs in the game for free at least twice now) So unsure how often that might pop up in the future but its something to take in mind.
I ran an experiment and created a new character on each server. Did all the quests on Korthos Island through the elite setting (less Misery Peak) and then moved over to the Harbor and did 3 of those up to elite and hit 100 favor on each character. With first on server bonuses I think each earned 185 store points x 8 servers = 1480 store points. Enough for one of the lower cost dungeon packs.
So basically if you want to fund your playing via no outside money, you're looking at multiple characters on each server and re-doing the content for each.
You do get 75 free lvl 1 to 10 dungeons and another 25 lvl 11 to 20 dungeons as a F2p player in which to earn points from.
Not exactly right. To earn the "MAX" favor yes, but each dungeon gives some favor for each level of completion. Example: Max favor for a dungeon is 12, so completing it on normal gets you 4 favor, Hard - another 4 and finally on elite the last 4 for a total of 12 favor.
even if you can't spend money when you hit level 20 you should reincarnate because that resets all your progress with favor. which means you can farm more points. so it's a neverending hamster wheel. Reincarnation can be done freely as well. yes it might not be a quick process but all of this is determined on what you can run. how often you play and if you can get elite opened. when you reincarnate first time you can now open hard. third time and beyond you can now open elite on your own on your reincarnated character.
just a few helpful tips
Nope unfortunately. You would have to buy warforged and artificer to continue playing that character or pay for another month. A monthly subscription also gets you 500 ddo points per month.
A monthly subscription is 14.99 (or 9.99 a month for 3 months 29.97)
500 ddo points is 7.99 so half of the monthly subscription basically.

Honestly if you want to play a warforged artificer I would reccomend just buying them rather than doing the monthly service however.
Math Wise
Warforged and Artificer is 995 DDO points each or 1990 ddo points.
So that's about 29.99$ ddo points purchase
or
4 months of VIP worth of ddo points. I think for a new player if you want to play that race and class then 4 months of DDO VIP is probably the better value for you as will get access to the vast majority of the game (find out what content you like or don't like) and when its done will have enough points to buy the class and race for your character if you don't want to continue to pay for VIP.
Sub = 500 store points a month, access to all non-expansion dungeons, access to all the classes / races, more character slots.
ALL of which goes away once your sub ends, so any extra characters (slots) over the 5 premium gets you'd have to buy those slots to get at the character and if they weren't any of the free classes all can play, you'd have to buy the race / class to be able to continue playing them.
If you arent going to pay for the game dont bother playing it, it isnt free to play. Its free to try to get you addicted to spending cash. The cash shop is predatory, gambling, whale based. The game is super laggy, but dont worry they will sell you a potion to rez you in the middle of the dungeon. They also sell you stat boosts.
You will never get enough ddo points for just playing the game. The game to unlock everything will run you like 150 dollars, plus a subscription fee.
Not exactly 100% true, but I get where you're coming from. You do get enough free dungeons that you can have a nice casual time of dungeon running and for those lucky enough to score on either of the all dungeons free coupons even more so.
While there's guides here and on the internet on how to play 100% free it's going to be like taking on a 2nd job. If you don't plan on a sub, than play on tossing $20 for points at the game from time to time to buy more content to run.
Well outside of buying more content, I hadn't used the store for anything else, so if that's how you see it, that's on you.
Maybe for you, but my game runs fine.
