Artificier..how to unlock it ingame?

Greetings,
i played this game long time ago and not so much...not i re installed it after so many year and my level 3 claric still there ..i was suuprised TBH..but many things changed..and game isn't that user friendly so many items,drops, currency that need time to ge tused to..i want to create a new character and i 'm intrigued by Artificier ..but it has a Shop coin on it (like the special classes andvaqnced) but it saysi it's possible to unlock it in game using Favor..for what i understood favor should be the quest\mission completed..i've done a bit now..and i want know what i need to do to unlock the new Character, pls. Thanks
p.s. if someone near my level want try grouping dungeon invite me and add me, to play togheter , thanks

You have to get some favor with House Cannith. More about Cannith favor [ddowiki.com]

You need the Secrets of the Artificers pack[ddowiki.com], and you need to complete several of the House Cannith challenges[ddowiki.com]. You can get one free play of a challenge per day (from the NPC in the middle of House Cannith), so you don't need to buy that.

You'll probably need to get to at least level 21 to get the 150 favor you need, through completing the 3 non-raid quests in the pack on Elite, and getting the rest of the favor from challenges. There's also a level 27 quest that gives House Cannith favor, as well as two raids in the Secrets of the Artificers pack, if you're able to complete those.

If you don't have experience with the challenges, getting the favor from them will take a bit of practice. If you have/can get a party, most of them will be much easier.

thanks..so i need to buy something form the store...those secret of the artificerss pack?? and no i didnt do any quest besides those nromal and many quest require something on the store..so i'm nearly stuck in marketplace i tried 2 quest that have the worning (for grp) and i failed.both the last 1 atg the end cuz i was poisoned..its heavily p2w this game sadly..and i'm without CC atm..so i think will be hard to continue playing..thanks and sry bad english

well i disagree with it being p2w. you're not competing against anyone. owning packs isnt what i consider p2w either or classes. another thing to think about is look at the cost of artificer as a class and the packs if you dont own challenges and secret of artificer. it might be cheaper to just get the class instead.

There is currently enough XP in DDO in the free quests to level a TR toon to level 20. TR (True Reincarnated toons are characters that have already reach level 20 and reset back to level 1 with better stats however have a higher xp curve)

Regular Toons - 1,900,00 xp to cap
Second Life Toon (TR) - 2,850,000 xp to cap

A ftp only player can earn 1263 total favor with out buying any quest packs.

House C - 153
House D - 135
House J - 198
House K - 162
House P - 93
PDK - 96
The Coin Lords - 263
The Free Agents - 216
The Harpers - 36
The Silver Flame - 123
The Twelve - 18



This means you can earn Drow and Veteran Status (new characters start at level 4) with just F2P. It also means you will earn 500 DDO points. You can use those points to buy quest packs, which will allow you to earn more favor which in turn will earn more ddo points. You can continue this cycle and farm ddo points and buy everything in the game with out spending a single cent on the game.

However if do spend actual money on the game your account upgrades from a free to play account to a premium account.

Which nets you
5 character slots (up from 3)
Auctions (up to 50)
Mail (up to 50)
Gold Storage (4.3 million pp)
Monster Manual Prologue and Chapter 1.

So its up to you if you want to spend real money on the game or not, but you can earn everything in the game with out it, as well as hit level cap on only F2P quests (though it is reccomended you grab Vale of the Twilight quest pack with ddo points fairly early)

At this point in the year I'd suggest before buying anything, wait until Black Friday. DDO has a history (moot since not Turbine?) of giving rather good deals at that time. At that point I'd suggest keeping an eye towards the expansions, which can give a large amount of content, bonus pack content, AND store points... while at a discount of 75% or great - I bought a few guildies Underdark for 4$ or so a person.

Free quests to level to 20 is a TOUCH moot as well since exp isn't gone forever like it did in the ancient ransack days. Couple that with the free daily tokens that let you run a challenge per... if you collect the token every day, by the time you're wanting to use them you should have more than you care to use. I know I've a few stacks worth of tokens in the bank thanks to obsessively talking to that NPC. [Which is actually nice since you then can happily waste them IN the challenge for buffs..hey! we're defending the final moments of the runic ward's cast...let's have quad strength for EVERYONE!]


Another reason to save those challenge tokens: you can use EPIC level challenges to get reincarnation hearts...letting you improve your char, while starting the climb again and earning even more favour.. without paying a penny.

Gianthold use to be the goto because there was a lack of content at that level range, however thats changed quite a bit now so vale shoots up there. Also vale quests are run more often even by todays low pop standards thus finding parties for it, is quite a bit easier.

P2Play , sry-...i mean i prefer a F"P style like Secret workd did..or Coanan-...they made all game playable and only some cosmetic stuff and xp boost under paywall..here seems u can't enter most of the dungeon if u dont buy gold..maybe i'm wrong bu this is what game is for now.
as i said atm i can't afford any buy, i don't have a CC and i'm unemployed so i can't spend money on games now..

uhm...i didjìtspet any of this so called token i had some of them in my inventory..maybe i need to watch a guide or something because things aren't so clear in game..and there is a TON OF ITEM and collectasble that i'm confused..add all thisa to the fact i'm not so good with english and Voilà..things going to be hard to discover ,,,i'm not having so much troulbe in other games like The Secred World (i bought the game back in the time way before it went F2P) like Age of Conan..have retail dvd..and now are f2p and i had nothing back to be a Paying customer ..but seems u can play nearly all the base game and some expansion without big limits..and all it is much clear in game ..here to see if a quest is VIP or Free u need to go on the place and try to enter nstance.. not fair.. but thanks all for the tips

so u need to be on the same server in order to play?? isn't like the secret world that when u group with others it merge characters just before enter in dungeon istance? well i'm on server .uhm Cannith or something like that...named Blacklashkalesh..if someone want grp let me know. thanks

In House Cannith there is an NPC standing there that offers one free challenge token[ddowiki.com] every day. Those can be used to enter a challenge once - entering uses up the token.

Save a bunch of them, find a group, and give it a run.

The only thing is that you'll only be able to make an artificer on THAT server if you unlock it.
Things bought in the store unlock things on every server, things you earn in game (Favour Rewards) are only for THAT server.

If you're confused on things, I'd suggest reading the wiki[ddowiki.com]. It's surprisingly well updated and accurate. (I know several wiki for other games that are month out of date, if not empty of content)

Yes, your characters are existing only on ONE server. You can make a Genescythe Eyeraper on every server, but only the one that's on Server X can play with people that only have characters on Server X.

Heh, it's not really a name, more a declaration. Even more amusing is in some games that can't handle other characters, it goes blank. The unnamed sniper~~
