Saints Row IV: Fixing Low Frames?
My computer is a bit old, but it does get the job done running big games. the specs are still there to help support it. When I launched Saints Row 4, I suffered with an awful frame rate right from the start. Any way to fix this issue?
Did Steam/Or Epic do something that might have triggered this?
[NOTE: I have lowered the graphic setting and it only made the frames lower.]

I see what you mean, but it looks like it would've gotten the job done. there must be something we're missing...

If you are using a controller try disabling steam input for the game by going to properties and controller settings in your steam library.

I tried a lot of fixes people suggested, but only thing that got me past ~17 fps was swapping to the legacy version in the betas section.

If you don't know how to access that, right-click game in steam, go to properties, then betas. Under beta participation, select the sriv_legacy option.

After doing that, I'm back up to > 60 fps on ultra settings.

If that doesn't work, other things I saw suggested which didn't have an effect for me include:
turning off post-processing
making sure the GPU is being used
moving the game onto the C:\ drive

Best of luck. Hopefully they send out a fix for this latest patch.

Go to Game Files (rightclick game on steam, browse local files)

Then Right click the file named "SaintsRowIV.exe" and go to Properties and under compatibility Check these boxes: run compatibility mode (windows8) Fullscreen optimization and run as Administrator.

Now repeat the same for the file named "sr_hv.exe"

Thats what fixed it for me let me know if it worked.

Or just disable Steam input. It has a bug with the Re-Elected.

Good luck flying out of the alien base. My co-op partner had to change her resolution to 640×480 for that part.

idk if this discussion still active but, if turned back to legacy version do i lose all dlcs from re-elected? or do i get to keep it?, also for another fix for your question idk what gpu youre using but EOS controls the games first menu/main menu, your GPU uses that ONLY.
for the actual game EXE you have to manually add it to your gpu control [panel set it to use your GPU ik its ret*rded

Just an update; I haven’t been keeping up with this thread. I logged on one day and It just fixed itself, I don’t even know what I did. Non of my saves from 2015 where there either, I think it had something to do with epic games taking over, not entirely sure.
