Windows 7 compatible?
I'd much rather play on PC than Switch, but I run windows 7. Many games that list windows 10 as a requirement actually run fine on 7. Now that release is today, someone can finally tell me if this is one of 'em. I can't get that game until I know!!!

Get up with the times.

PSA: In this day and age Nobody should use Windows 7 on an internet-connected PC anymore. The System is not being actively supported anymore. All Big security Software Developers will tell you that you should update your system to one that is actively supported. You are opening yourself to attacks, and run a big risk on your computer and internet being used to harm others.
If you don't want to switch to newer windows versions it's recommended to switch to Other operating systems that are actively supported. Regarding windows 10: There are also guides how to disable pretty much all calling home features etc. And while ms doesn't officially support free upgrades anymore, the upgrade is still available for free, and win 10 has been shown to run just as fast, if not faster in the vast majority of use-cases and hardware configurations.

No, the game does not run on Win7.

Some MS-DOS and AmigaOS support would be nice as well ;-)

The engine is running in DirectX 12 so Win 7 support is not likely.

At least someone here can answer the question without mocking the OP.

To the OP: Like you said, many supposedly "Win10-only" games can run on Win7, so it's theoretically possible that this game could run too. You might have to set "-dx11" (without the quotes) in the launch options within Steam.

That said, there's no way to know if that'd work without trying it, so you might need to purchase it, try it yourself, and then refund if it doesn't work.

As for everyone else here who acted like children when responding to the OP: I'll never understand why some gamers feel the need to attack others based on decisions that have no affect on them whatsoever.

Devs already answered this in one of the other windows 7 topics. The answer is definitively no.

Windows 7 is your decision, so live with the consequences.
You know that Windows 10 upgrade is free for genuine Windows 7 owners, do you?

So many helpful responses. :-$

I am in the same boat, still using Windows 7. I purchased this game and didn't check the requirements. Of all games I didn't expect this one to require Windows 10. Well, to answer the OP's question, it doesn't run. But that's not gonna make me install that UX monstrosity. I will rather dig out my old mac and try that.

Didn't know there are so many Amish people with computers.

Well, it's the rare moment when they can enjoy the feeling of superiority thanks to using Win10. That's indeed something that doesn't happen often, so it must be pretty hard to resist, mustn't it? :)

Freaking lazy devs, no Windows XP support = NO BUY.

Thanks to the few people here that actually responded to my question. I guess I'll grab it on Switch.
