If you want I can give you a sad understanding hug as I too can't play till T.T march 5th
The countries that have started selling it IE AUSTRALIA should be allowed to play there game just like the console versions.
It is a retail copy that requires Steam to activate NOT A digital copy. Different regions can have different activation times so Steam and Squeenix need to allow for this in this particular case.
This is fault of Square-Enix for letting there local distributers give the ok for early release but not updating Steam.
As for you have a copy, no you shouldn't be allowed to play through steam if it's not the day of the offical release. This breaking of street date is causing a mess and having Steam allowing you to play would create a S##t storm. If your mad you can't play- go yell at the store who sold it to you because they are the ones who messed everything up. Not Steam or the Publisher. Point the finger where it should be pointed at the retailer.
steam should be able to adapt.
seeing that the street date has been broken steam should take it into account and update their release server, if they can't do that then they are open to such hate.
and that a shame, as they are only annoying their user base, hopefully the seppo's break the street date on their Saturday so we might at least get it a day early.
and honestly i think there would be more anger if the street date was broken in the US and were then locked out.
