It kind of kills the game... I've been playing on tough difficulty and the AI's tend to just go to war with each other right away and spend the rest of the game researching whatever weapon is trendy and they don't actually make progress anywhere else in the tech tree. It makes it super easy to outpace them with basic economy techs. Is there some way to get them to hold off on the wars for a while? I remember it taking them a lot longer to fight when I played on the easier difficulties....

My husband and I have played this game for years both from the disc and then from steam. Just lately, we've noticed it crashing more often than usual. It always crashed from time to time but in the last games we've played, it's crashing almost every time it's saved, FAR more frequently than ever before. I heard somewhere that Ultimate edition made vast balance changes from TOTA and DL, but when playing previous campaigns (playing campaigns from TOTA and DL) the UE balance changes are applied on those campaigns even though they're not made with those balance changes in mind, resulting in an unintended experience. Is There a way to play on previous iterations on the steam version so that I can avoid that?...
