Not cross-platform between Epic & Steam anymore

I spent a stupid amount of time trying to figure out why i couldnt connect my epic and steam account for this game and its stated in the hotfix #70 that they took the option away. So if you get the free legendary version from Epic, you wont be able to play with steam players. :/

That's not how it works bro

"Once a main platform is selected, all account data will be bound only to that specific platform and switching across platforms will no longer be possible. "

It means that you can't use your one account across multiple platforms, it's all tied to just one you chose then. It has nothing to do with "cross play", everyone that owns the game plays together regardless of platform.

the server is cross platform you just wont be able to launch or patch the game from steam directly. essentially it just means you need to use the epic games launcher.

Thats what i thought too but why cant i find my steam friends through the epic version of the game?

I can confirm with 100% certainty it still works as I was doing matches with a friend who switched from Steam to Epic just today after he switched to Epic. Remember that names are Case sensitive when you search them and that you need to be searching for them in the player list not just your friends list

If steam accounts and epic accounts are separate.. you need to re-add to the new account no?

Then my stuff is broken cause it's not allowing me to find any of my steam friends through the epic version 😅 I've had one other friend have the exact same issue as well.

Yeah i tried everything and it still doesnt work for us :/ i contacted support to check and see if there's something wrong.

When searching for your friends on the Players List, you have to enter their account name, not the name of the character they are currently on. If you use the name of the character, it will not find them.

just both go into the gathering hall at the same time. you'll find each-other.
