Most realisty flying sim out there. I always was kinda into planes and flying but had zero experiece. I tought myself starting up, flying, navigating and everything that comes with aviation. Maybe I'm crazy but after hours of XPlane, especially in a B737-800 I think I would be able to land a real one at perfect weather with ATC for help thanks to Xplane.
There are also so much things you can add to Xplane for more realism.
The only con is that most realistic extra planes are +$100

If you’re after an easy, relaxing flight sim, X-Plane 12 probably isn’t for you. The MSFS series is better suited to people who just want enjoyable, laid-back flights and beautiful scenery. X-Plane 12, on the other hand, is much more challenging by any standard.
X-Plane 12 has a more advanced physics engine than X-Plane 11, which means situations like flying into a CB, stalling, or dealing with other realistic in-flight issues are definitely much more serious and demanding.

It’s also a great simulator for aviation training. If you’re thinking about getting into aviation, you should definitely give it a try — it may give you answers to many of the questions you’ve been carrying in the back of your mind. It’s never too late to get into it or walk away from it. Whatever you feel during a sim flight tends to be intensified, whether it’s excitement or doubt. At least sim flight can pause for a poop, a smoke, and a coffee break.
There is no mercy in a real cockpit, every time I feel like taking a ♥♥♥♥ , things never go the way I want. Now I know how to hold my ♥♥♥♥♥ together as long as I can.

By the way, I never thought I’d have to figure out how to fix a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ TCA yoke.
