However, you could simply say that it means either you guy is from the UK but not Scotland - or he is from Scotland directly. Or you just ask them to replace the flag of the UK with the Flag of England...
Brits? Don't you mean English? Because British is the culmination of England Northern Ireland Scotland and Wales..(for the time being!)
EDIT: Ofcourse we don't get to hear the epic accents, but none the less! I stand by my statement.
For example, you would not describe a US Marines base in Texas as "Texas Marines"... they are US Marines.
But as Lones rightly points out, its odd. That said, its not uncommon for people to mistakenly think England describes the whole of the uk, or to think that for example Wales is a separate country. I guess the phrase "United Kingdom" is a big hint at the real relationship. And despite the impression you might get from certain elements in the press, we are very much united.
This massive mistake aside, I think the Nationality aspect of the game is one of the few things that they did well. It seemed that pretty much any country could turn up in your roster, as if all the armed forces of the world united to respond to the threat. I kept finding myself looking up the national flags on wikipedia and found the whole the exercise very interesting.
I have to say the choice of 7 very similar American accents was shameful tbh.
I would not care if they had sampled peoples voices in the street randomly, but hell I wanted more, and more DIVERSE accents to choose from. I would not care if it was done well or badly, but oh god I just wanted more choice in accent than 7 different shades of East Coast American.
Read the front of the passport, it's GB & NI, only UK incorporates all four. Not being an arse, but annoys many Northern Irish people (myself included) being referred to as British. We could debate many historical reasons for such a need to distinguish, my major problem being that most stores on the mainland always pile on the postage when you order something with free postage even though we have Royal Mail lol!
@Seyaku-Brad Please don't forget the Royal Irish Regiment, they sound like Scottish people on amphetamines, but represent Ireland/Northern Ireland in the British Army (weird but people from the North and the Republic can both be in the British army).
Oh I completely agree, if there had been Scottish and Irish accents my entire team had been using those to be honest.
Some of my squad was named after gamers Ive rolled with for years... Scotland, Sweden, England, Finland, Denmark.... but apparently they all speak "Mericaan".... oversight imo lol
Maybe if you actually read my post it was regarding the confusion between people using British and UK as the same thing... but go on, have your little moment lol
