XCOM has been "Total Recalled"

Just needed to say this. I'm a fan of the new Total Recall because it has hot chicks and sweet design and VFX. But they took MARS out of it which makes me think maybe they should just have called the movie something else.

Now although I enjoy the new XCOM's beautiful graphics and fun gameplay, I'm also very sad about the lack of so many cool stuff from the first game. Most of all, wasnt there more ships than the Skyranger, the Firestorm is cool but I mean a better troop transport??? also, why did they make a stupid flying base instead of a base on Mars, or at least on another planet or dimension?

Why does everyone hate MARS so much that they have to take it out of every great storyline?

To be fair (I have not read the books) but apparently, Mars is not even in Total Recall (which was a book before the Arnold movie).

But yeah, apparently mars had nothing to do with it at all, that was a hollywood add in.

Could be wrong, just what I had heard.

Total Recall is based on a short story by Philipp K ♥♥♥♥ called "we remember it for you wholesale" and it has Mars in it. Even the TV series had at least Mars references even though it took place on earth.

the point is the new movie is a remake of the old movie, just like XCOM is a remake of the old game. Proof is there is a 3-breasted woman in both movies and not in the book. They took out one of the most important and relevant part of the story which is the location on Mars. Thats stupid and thats the point here. Going to Cydonia was the coolest ending ever and they messed it up.

I am assuming that must be the Alien planet from the first game, and I have to agree, it already sounds like a more bad ass ending.


Developers have gained this tendency to turn out half products, even though they have a whole, and sell the whole to us later for $49.99.

Just know that I have played XCOM 20 years ago and it was my favorite PC game. 6 months ago I heard about this remake, I pre-ordered in JUNE and since then have been eagerly awaiting this reboot... excitement building up as everyone is saying that it will hold up to the original... only to find out that it does not. Thanks for all the eye-candy though, because thats all the new game is.

whats killing me is hearing some dev in a preview video saying how much he was a true Xcom fan and how much this game was going to be good. I feel like an idiot for wasting my money and daring to hope it would be as great... then I see all the great critics online and I wonder is the whole world filled with even worst idiots than I? anyway, I'm glad to see Im not the only one this game has utterly failed
