Uhm. What means buff - debuff/nerf ? (sounds clumsy, meant serious:) And what does the guy looking like jumped out of an exit-sign on the left side mean, in combat ui ? didnt overwatch the link between occasions and situations.

Buffs means bonuses/improvements to your defence or firing. Debuff/nerf means penalties or lowering of firing or defence. The running guy icon removes you from combat options back to movement mode.

Thx for info. The running guy icon didnt work for me as a button, it just appears but aint clickable, so I couldnt find out myself. I guess the buff/debuff-arrows work as a hint to look up the detailed information for why i got advantages or disadvantages. k. ready.

Sorry for bringing up an old topic. But with Steams sucky search function, this was the only topic regarding my question, I could find.
So, a green arrow means a bonus towards defence and/or aiming for the unit, and a red arrow the opposite?

normaly a green up arrow means u have an advantage vs an enemy the soldier can see, mostly because u have higher ground with dam good ground or some other things like that. a red down arrow means the soldier has an disadvantage, because an enemy has higher ground than him, the soldier takes breath from a strangle, or is poisioned.

Buffs/Debuffs.

Examples of Buffs:
  • Smoke Grenades (+Enemy Miss-chance also +Will and Aim if you have Combat Drugs)
  • Run & Gun (+Move and Shoot)
  • I think Height Advantage shows a Buff arrow...
Examples of Debuffs:
  • Panic
  • Holo-Targetting (-Enemy miss-chance) (This is only really visible on enemies, but this can also be seen in Enemy Within with EXALT Heavies)
  • Moving with a Sniper

TBH you probably should have just made a new thread with the question rather than posting it in a 3 year old one. just saying
