XCOM Enemy Within -- New Campaign Or No?
I've heard conflicting answers to this question, and seen nothing official so far.

Has it been confirmed as to whether XCOM Enemy Within will have its own campaign/storyline, or will the xpac simply add a bunch of new gameplay options to the existing game?

Myself, I love XCOM Enemy Unknown, but I'm not sure I'm ready to play the whole thing over again from scratch so soon after completing the original campaign.

For what I know searching in the internet, there is not a sequel or new campaign. Think about this DLC like civilization.
The campaign and game will be exactly the same, but there are alot of adds, monsters, customization, new missions, places, weapons, armours, mechanics, strategy, and more heroes (one new class) and modifications to them.
There is not a new, seperate campaign. The new storyline relating to the new faction is inter-woven into the existing campaign. EW also adds a new slingshot-style mini campaign, called Progeny.
This game is a game which worth it to replay again.
Just think about tons of new maps and new story lines that they are goin to put, tons of new maps means tons of new tactics to practice. more than 40 new maps is a big deal man. New weapons and new skills or maybe more that we dont know.

Yup. 42 new maps, I believe. As well as new equipment, a new class, new weapons for that class, new abilities, some old abilities are being reworked, general rebalancing, new combat mechanics, the aforementioned new faction, new storyline about said faction, and new mini-campaign. Can't wait for EW.
Thanks to all those who attempted to answer the question I asked. Your input is much appreciated.
It's the same campaign, but there are some extra story missions.
updated campaign to be more precise...
Store page says: " ...Enemy Within adds an incredible array of new abilities, upgrades and weapons to combat new enemy and alien threats. This expansion also introduces new maps and missions, new tactical and strategic gameplay..."

I think this will translate into new experieces during the campaign, but the overall story line sounds like it will remain the same.

Don't just look at what the store page says. To get any real info, you have to pay attention to the interviews they've done since EW was announced. And in those interviews, they've talked about a new faction they'll be adding in for you to fight, and a new storyline around that faction thats inter-woven into the existing game. And we can guess from the EW achievements that the new faction is going to be a human faction.
Is it possible to resume a existing game or do i have to start an entirely new campaign from scratch?
start a new game

I think it will be a balance of a full story, and no story at all. Effectively what I'm saying here is I think that the additional missions will provide opportunities to show off the new gameplay mechanics and in itself could create a new story. As the game is being sold as a standalone for the consoles, I think it would be safe to assume that it's going to include a new story of some kind, otherwise why would it not just be added as DLC content?
Because it exceeds the file size limits on both xbox and ps3, so it can't be sold as a digital download. EW does include new storylines, but not a seperate campaign.

You have to start a new campaign if you want access to the new features. This is because "meld," the new resource, is there right from the start. Literally, the first mission. Most of the new research and foundry projects are in the early-mid game. The new aliens get introduced pretty early. EXALT comes in mid-game. Not to mention the many balance changes, including the removal of several abilities (the support extra pockets ability is now a foundry project that effects all soldiers, and the officer training school upgrade that increases a soldiers chance to be critically wounded instead of killed has been removed entirely).
