unplayable mouse scrolling bug *update*
alas,

i seem to be stuck, i have the problem with the screen auto scroll to the left and nothing seems to get rid of it. I do not have a joy stick, it happens after i uninstalled my gaming mouse drivers, and even after i uninstalled and reinstalled the game. i have tried hit wasdqe and that doesnt work either. this happens on brand new games as well as old saves. i purchased this game and both DLCs and cannot seem to play whatsoever.

UPDATE: this seems to happen on multiple steam games. Error repeats itself in Ravaged
attempt a system restore to about two weeks ago when error started. i had recently uninstalled Razers utility because i just switched to a steelseries sensai

When this happens to me - best I can make out it's triggered when I trigger a group of aliens or some other cutscene while I'm attempting to scroll - switching units seems to sort it. But when you're getting it "all the time"? Hmm...

Were you able to play for a while in order to generate those "old saves", or did you download them from somewhere as a test? If it did used to work normally, is there anything you can remember as to what happened when that changed?

Just commenting to say I am currently having the same issue as Bomb Bloke. It seems to be related to when I trigger aliens on a mission. The camera just constantly goes left and never stops. I WAS able to fix it by tabbing through my squad a bunch of times, but only about 40 seconds later, my game locked up and kicked me back to my desktop.

It has happened twice now, as I went back in hoping that it was a "one time thing" but it happened a second time immediately after triggering enemies again. Now I have to replay an old mission or two as I hadn't saved in awhile (my fault) and it's obnoxious.

It's usually caused by a Joystick. Unplug your joystick and you should be good to go.

I've had that happen before, even in non-Steam titles. Odd fix, Alt-Tab out of the Xcom application back to your desktop, make sure the mouse is in the middle of the screen, then alt-tab back into Xcom. This has worked for me (though I can't logically justify why, guess the program's registering the mouse on the far left for scrolling even though it clearly isn't), so hopefully it works for you two.

Unplugging my controller solved my scrolling issue.

Hi!
In first start the picture flashed very fast, then we put it on borderless.
Everything worked well. Next day when I start the game the mouse did not scroll to the right and down in tactic mode. The problem by me was not with the mouse driver.
I resolved the mouse scrolling problem by changing the borderless to fullscreen and back to borderless mode.
I hope there will be any patch sooner.

Open the BaseEngine.ini file located in X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\Engine\Config (Where X: is the location of your Steam folder)
Find the AllowJoystickInput = 1 and change that number to 0

That's it. Now I can run the game while my joystick is plugged in. Note that I am not using a joystick, I use my mouse and keyboard to play the game. I am assuming that if you want to play with a 360 joystick, you don't need to make that modification... ;)

And it works for me ( I have no joystick or controller, bit a Razer mouse)
