I agree. Game needs more content.
Okay, first of all, cover was a "thing" in TOG, whether or not TOG said it. Whether it worked all that well was another thing, but seeing as how, in this game, having a seed where an alien can have .0000001% chance to hit you and will hit you every single time you reload the game and make the same moves, I guess that's completely fair. I'm sure that you remember, or maybe not, from the kneeling to standing position you could see an alien or not see an alien. What is that? Cover, dumbass.
What is the point to this post? To point out the hubrisness, audacity, and just plain denseness of the guy's post. Sadism is what I would call it, your milage may vary.
Yah, it's funny, huh? How completely random people can walk in off the street and start complaiming about the same things, that we trolls, have complained about?
Who would'a thunk it?!
Yah, the game was produced more than 18 years ago. Uhhh, hi, give it a break. More sadism, FTW.
No, kneeling or standing did not give you cover. It gave you LOS. The alien would waste you regardless of your stance (a little less if your stance was kneeling because you were a smaller target.
And just because the aliens got lucky doesn't mean they always get lucky. The sectoids have a 75 aim on classic, so they still miss 25% of the time. I've had a rookie standing in the open get missed by 2 sectoids. So no, they don't just magically "always" hit.
Oh, and the seed. Yes, someone else is still ignorant of how seeds work. Of course if you do the same things it will produce the same results. That's what a seed does. It's to prevent save-scumming. If you still MUST get that BS shot, do something slightly different, like moving to a different piece of cover to reset the seed. And yes, that is fair. How would it be fair if you could just reload a save and give yourself virtually guaranteed success on every action that you do? Please tell me how that's fair in this game.
If people want to break a game by their own free will, and cheat.....let them. It should roll the dice on each moment of any action....not pre-determine your destiny with a seed generator pre-mission. It's not fair because, even if I had made any other choice, the aliens from the start of the mission ALL know the BEST choice to make. That is unfair. More unfair than people save-scumming. Let them ruin their game's replay value if they want.
Also, developer diary clealry states they went through and removed things they didnt like. Not what you didn't like, but what they didn't like.
Don't share the same tastes? Well, that's why we have more than one TV channel, why there is not the same restaurant on every corner. People are different.
Your likes are no more important than theirs, mine or that weird looking dude in the corner. However, they happened to be in a position to influence their likes on the game.
Get over yourself, you're one person in 7 Billion+ people. Hate to be the one to tell you, but your parents lied to you, you're not that important.
If you want to cheat, get the god characters. RNG ceases to matter when your soldiers have 100 HP and infinite accuracy. Perfect for the new generation of COD players.
Or is this an editor cheat or something?
