Is toolboks updated for Enemy Within yet?
Its even more fun when he tells you you need to escort someone to the aircraft and grabs the camera from you to show you where the transport is at - I don't know how I would *ever* have found it, certainly not by simply GOING BACK THE WAY I CAME.
'Commander, we don;t have enough satellite relays'' - yeah, I know arsehole. I'm building satellites *now* so they'll be ready to launch once the damn relay is completed.
I mean, there's a reason why I'm the head of XCOM and its not because I'm mentally deficient - I have no idea why the devs thought it would be good to have these guys continually telling you how to do the most elementary things.
But best of all is Vahlen, jerking the camera away from me so I have to sit there and listen to her pontificate on the historical important of alien life, or telling me that we can't recover materials if we use explosive, or (most fustratingly) telling me not to blow up MELD canisters after:
a - I've already recovered the MELD in the cannister
and
b - It was a freaking *ALIEN* that blew the damn thing up
or telling me there's no point in capturing aliens before I have an alien containment set up - how about getting ahold of some complete alien tech *now* instead of some time in the indefinite future when I can finally afford to built the thing?
God, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate her.
There's an initial version up but a lot of the functions aren't ready yet, including disabling narrative.
And "camera grabbing" is one of the most annoying features of the game. As if fighting the aliens weren't enough - you have to fight the camera too.
To be honest I really enjoyed all the chatter the first few playthroughs but it gets old fast when you play a lot :D
I thought the option to turn off VO's was an awesome feature until I realised just how little it actually turns off.
Also hate the Camera pull, even more in EW because the addition of meld makes you want to move or attack even quicker :D Arrrgh!
And as for escort missions... "Get down here not fair if I have all the fun," Mr. Toughguy who keeps crapping out of him but then does nothing useful at all when you finally get down to him. And as for his men that offer to help you back to your ship and then stand around having a smoke while thin men drop in. 'Facepalm' no wonder he ended up needing a rescue :D
In saying all that I still love the game :D
I read something once that rings in my head every time the camera is forced away from me. "NEVER take control away from the player."
Really I do.
I do hate his voice when he says "Commander, we have suffered a number of casualties. We need to hire more men...." bla bla bla. I know I'm losing men you ♥♥♥♥. I'm already nervous about it, you don't need to remind me about that everytime I click on Barracks! Ah, and BTW, I click on Barracks to do exactly that: HIRE MORE MEN, you ♥♥♥♥! :)
Or when he goes 'At least we have some vets on our side.' right after my three most experienced people all die on a mission. (meaning we now have no one above Sargent anymore)
Oh you misunderstand, hes talking about the vets that look after the chryssalids :P
Funny thing is Bradford says how Dr. Vahlen is an aliens worst nightmare, well I reckon Dr. Shen is a Soldiers worst nightmare :D "A cut here, a cut there"
"Wait! Are you sure I agreed to this." :D
