CTR-ALT-DEL, Iron Man Turn reset.
So I screwed up a turn pretty bad playing Iron Man and my mission VIP died. So before doing another turn I hit CTR-ALT-DEL and crashed the game. I reloaded the game and I was back on the turn again. Don't know if anyone tried this before or not. But I am tired of losing games lol. It worked for me. Try at your own risk :D:

Doesn't that sort of defeat the point of playing that specific game mode though? It's a single player game and you can play it however you like, it just seems like you might as well play the normal mode instead.

Ya doesnt that defeat the purpose? But to each his own :cgpout:

Eh, I guess if you mis-click a soldier into the open or something then it's alright. But if things are going wrong because of bad decisions or lack of foresight, then you shouldn't.

Well, technically, its late and I didnt know I had the VIP selected and thought it was my assault. So, needless to say instead of shotgunning my opponent, he died. :(

This is known for many around here. I have only suggested it for bug purposes (alien activity freeze, alien teleportation, etc.) and I have had to use it myself on a few occasions, but I wouldn't condone it for mistakes.

so OP, you cheat? if you do that then what's the point of playing Ironman?

Call it what you want. But because I mistakenly selected the wrong guy I am not starting over again. And I could care less if about a title. I just play Ironman because I am to lazy to save games.

It shows how fake are the iron achievements. Not a surprise, not any company can afford them solid protections as few like Blizzard can.

It doesn't totally defeat the point of Ironman because you can only ever return to the beginning of your latest turn. So for example, if you find you've worked yourself into a bad situation over the last few turns, CTRL-ALT-DEL will not fix it. If a squad member finds themselves in a killzone and will be slaughtered, it won't fix that either. Its kinda like Ironman Lite (Diet-Ironman). Yeah, you can use it to cheat (e.g. scout enemy positions, check outcomes of certain shots, etc) but like others said, its up to you to exercise restraint.

The most dramatic effect I've seen of this exploit is that if you do it before beginning your second turn on a map, you will be dropped back at base and when you head out on the same mission a totally different map might appear! Now that DOES feel like cheating!!
