Rising Dragon bugged?

The achievement reads "Take your new ally into the final challenge."

I assume it means Zhang. I tried this in Enemy Within, took him into the final mission (as my volunteer) and the achievement didn't pop. Anyone else run into this?

I can confirm this achievement is obtainable in Enemy Within, and requires finishing the mission (presumably with Zhang still alive).

This is untrue, I missed the Edison achievement on my Enemy Unknown playthrough, but got it when I played Enemy Within.

Also, I managed to get Rising Dragon with Zhang as the volunteer. However, the achievement didn't register until I completed the mission. I can only conclude that it doesn't matter whether or not Zhang is the volunteer, but that there is a hidden requirement: that you must finish the mission.

I play Enemy Within and still got no sing of Zhang I'm alredy past the enemy base mission can someone help me here?

Simple answer u droped or lost "Friends in Low places" or u forget to activate the Mission Line in the gamestart Advanced Options.
Third possible outcome: u dont own Slingshot.

SDMF how can it not be active in EW when i say a MEC-Zhan got it for me?

So u maybe overseen him in u barrack?

To receive this achievement in EW - you have to finish the mission "Temple Ship Assault" with Shaojie Zhang in your squad.

i believe this was one mission persona that showed psionics, she was a lot more powerful than most

I can confirm that rerunning the last mission from XCOM EU with Zhang in the team can trigger the achievement. Just got it right now. All you have to do is roll your last save before you pick the team, and put Zhang in the group. Once the mission starts you'll get the achievement.

I can confirm that running the last mission from XCOM EW with Zhang in the team can trigger the Rising Dragon achievement, though I did not get the unlock until I completed the mission with Zhang in the team.
