Ghost armor vs Titan Armor
I only just noticed the movement bonus and defense bonus of the Ghost armor.
Even though it has only 6 added hp compared to the 10 of Titan armor, I'm wondering if I should outfit my whole squad in it. That invis ability is pretty keen also.

Ghost armor is almost always preferable in my opinion. The added defense and movement does more for me than the titan's extra health. Some of it comes down to personal preferance, but I prefer to not get hit rather than have extra health. However, HP is your margin for error, so be careful. . .

TL:DR, Ghost armor trumps titan if you are careful about positioning.

For me I go for Titan for Assaults because their " Extra Conditioning" stacks up with it.

For Snipers I go for either Ghost armor or Archangel Armor.
For Heavies and Supports definitely Ghost Armor.

Extra conditioning is a good point. . .

Extra Conditioning, and CQC, which would have a nasty habit of blowing your cover anyway.

I will always prefer ghost armor. It may only give 6 HP instead of 10, to one with Extra Condition even less, but what does that mean?
In a situation where good cover is rare, beeing invisible surpases any additional HP.
20% more defense means 20% less hits. If you round that up you are easyly blocking 4 HP from not beeing hit every fifth shot which would hit you with titan armor.
The only credit I give for the titan armor is beeing able to walk through poison and fire without harm. But this can be avoided if one is carefull.

Titan armour is definetly more appealing once you have Ghost grenades since you can still go invisible if neccesary, but overall Ghost and Archangel just have greater flexibility and utility, and that`s what really matters on the higher difficulties.

On Normal, feel free to use Titan for most of your troops. It`s MUCH cheaper. On Classic or above it`s a stopgap measure to increase survivability until you can afford ghost armour for everyone.

Yes. except maybe people with extra conditioning.

But in EW I give people Ghost and Chitlin Plating. the 20 defense (and stealth if you want to abuse it) makes up for the lack of HP, and its got 3 more move and a grapple.

I always get naded in it, so I avoid it. I prefer Titan on everybody.

Although personally all the end-game armors are so OP in vanilla already that it really doesn't matter what you pick.

Either its a bug in the achievment-log, or you didn't made it through the highest difficulty...

I agree more with the following:

You're right, I only beat it on Classic. Impossible difficulty isn't balanced for the game at all and relies lots more on luck than skill.

hgwolf trys to sound very seasoned dispite the matter he never done Impossible or even Ironman. If i tryed that stunt to take Ghost instead of Titan i never made it in Impossible. In EU Ghost was an Option for Templeship so u can position u team for the double Sectopods, In EW Ghost has no existants meaning, because Titan gives u more HP (I prefer to get hit and life, instead of get hit and die with a slim better chance to not get hit) and Mimetic Skin just outrank Ghostarmors ability to Cloak.

generally i always find ghost armor better, behind a high wall your almost unkillable and well you can always ghost out.
Stardustfire Feb 1, 2015 @ 9:04am
high walls have the unpleasant Thing of beeing noneexistant anymore when a Plamabolt goes there way or a grenade. the bolt can miss u guy behind the wall but the wall can still get vapourised, and vs more than one shooting enemy that means the seconds shoots in the same turn on a soldier without cover, where 20 Defense is a nice laugh, and than u wished u got the right armor thats spends more hp. and that situation is not so uncommon already in classic, not to mentation impossible.

The one gripe I have with ghost armor is that it doesn't play nice with Memetic Skin.

But again, the +60 defense makes you much more likely to get grenades by heavy floaters, mutons, and cyberdiscs.
