XCOM: Enemy Unknown

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Need cheats of Single player.
More specifically, I need a way to keep my soldiers from dying, Is there a cheat for god mode or healing units? Like a consel command or somthing? FYI, I don't do downloads for cheats.

There is but why on earth would you use it? Be aware you've opened yourself here to a lot of L2P flaming and sadly this board is not always friendly.

Look on UFOPEDIA on how to activate the cheats or maybe someone who know will check this.
I don't know of anyway you can do that without downloading some sort of editor, but I guess you can check this out and see if it's to your liking: http://www.ufopaedia.org/index.php?title=Hero_%28EU2012%29
Support soldiers are going to be your best bet for healing in the field. Their high movement speed combined with their medkit-related abilities are going to keep your troops alive. Also prioritizing improving armor and making sure to stay in cover will significantly reduce your casualllties.
Saving and reloading turns feels like cheating
I suppose you could mod the game to give your soldiers absurd health, though it would get visually unsightly. Plus it's not trivial to mod this game.
There are the cheat command syou can activate so you can kill all the aliens on the map, and I believe heal or make all your guys invincible.

I've never bothered to look what they all do but the actual file is in the same folder as the LW ini. There are a bunch of guides on how to turn them on if you search google. And I know off hand RED has helped someone activate them before so you should be able to find that thread if you scan a few.
Let's not assume people are using Long War when they haven't given any indication they are doing so, thanks.
I didn't say he was using long war. What I did was point you to the folder that contains it. The particular document is part of the vanilla install. It is called "defaultcheats.ini". I noted it here because this is the second thread you've said that to someone when it has nothing to do with LW and is part of the vanilla package. I do admit I could have directly addressed you though which may have cleared up some of the confusion.

I mean there are the hero units. If you let them die it's because you wanted them to die, because they are insanely OP.

Why would "the folder with the LW ini" be in any way meaningful to someone not using LW?
See the last line of my post. I assumed you were aware of it as you've posted in regards to LW before thus making it easy for you to find the file I was talking about. As I said I should have been more clear about that.

So in regards to the Original Post:
There are cheat commands you can activate in the defaultcheats.ini file. Check google for a guide on how to do this or search this forum.

@Drunk also talked about the super soldiers which I had forgotten completely about.

@ SamBC.

I was just informing you that there actually cheat codes for the vanilla game and where you would access them for future reference. I will attempt to do so more clearly next time.
Just name one of your soldiers Jake Solomon, Sid Meier or William carter or something
I tried doing the Console Commands but I can't seem to get them to work well. Commands like .Bindings=(Name="P", Command="GiveItem WeaponFragment 1000", Alt=True) or
.Bindings=(Name="l", Command="Lowerpanic", Alt=True) work... but when I tried to enter "TakeNoDamage" as on of the commands it wouldn't work.
The key bindings are all there is. You can't actually add new ones. You just activate the options you have. One of them should be to just kill all the aliens on the map which is effectively the same as just not taking any damage.
I tried the killaliens command... it didn't work.

I also saw some cheats on here: http://keops.fr.yuku.com/topic/250/XCOM-Enemy-Unknown-Developer-Console#.VYtEEflViko

I can't figure out how they work.
