Launching Executable issue solved by replacing files-just installed game the other day
Noticed the "Updating Executable" and then game stops. Found the solution as stated elsewhere is to replace the files with the Gog version of those files. I copied the contents of the 2 binaries folders into steam version folders and tried to launch again, and while I haven't actually played yet, I got the launch screen and the initial game, which I then exited to desktop to report my findings here.

It works.

BUT... after that the game is in English and I can't load my old savegames, because they are in German.

Perhaps you can change this too.

But why? Still playing the GOG-Version in GOG. There it works perfect and I could use my old savegames from Steam.

It was 6 € in winter sale at GOG. And I loved the game.

check around here someone posted the gog version files on their google drive
Is there some sort of translation for this that stupid people can read?

Do you have a link to these files as Steam version is shocking, and from what I have read they wont offer any support.
shared drive files from gog or the other fix2 are trojan files. scan them.
and steam and y2k are blaming each other. just refund. they say that the problem is steam and don't give solution or buy on gog to "verify" that is a steam problem. And steam says that you have to contact de developers beacuase is a problem of the game. xD

Avast didn't flag them up at all for me and I've done a Malwarebytes scan since downloading the fix2 files- is there any mention of them being trojans elsewhere? First I've heard of it, didn't see it mentioned on the thread itself (which also I can't find now??)
