XCOM 2 has the same issue also? How long has this been happening? is 2K even going to bother? or did i waste my money for nothing?
Do not try to reinstall. Just let it sit. Try it once or twice after 1 or 2 days. If nothing happens then just continue waiting. It took around 5 days for it to decide to just work for me.
I haven't had an issue launching/playing the game since then.
*EDIT* Also, no, Xcom 2 does not have the same issue. Installing Xcom 2 and running it and then running Xcom 1 is one of the many supposed solutions.
Wow that has to be the most ridiculous solution i have heard.. how did they even do that or make that possible? alright.. I guess I'll wait and try that then. i'll have to play other things in the mean time.
I tried this and it did finally work, only for another issue to emerge. I tried playing EW and it crashed my PC at the end of the first mission every single time I tried. So yeah, you can 'fix' the executable issue, but then, at least for me, you get this one.
I am wondering if its an issue with EW though as some people had the same trouble but stated the base game without EW works just fine. Whatever it is someone, somewhere majorly screwed up.
No idea if its an EW issue. I know some people have some issues with EW but can do EU with no problems. Some people also can do EW with no issues but have a problem with EU. Since you can get the game working I suggest trying some compatibility solutions to try to solve the crashing issue. Its what usually works for me for other older games where crashing is an issue.
But yeah I agree that someone majorly and royally screwed up.
I tested with uninstalling and reinstalling the DLCs I wonder if i screwed up this 48 hour thing or not, or is the 48 hour thing only for the base game? and DLCS are fine? well idk i have yet to get it launch.
I just tried to launch again same issue, no idea what they did also. Oh well.. back to rocks and stones for now.
Saw conflicting reports that windows update isn't the cause. I still have no clue what's going on i'm currently just waiting hoping it'll launch as someone suggested earlier.
