How the heck does one capture an Ethereal?
I just want to do the interrogation before I round off my playthrough. Any tips?

Same way you capture any other enemy, just harder. Get their health down to 1-3 points and zap em. The closer it is to 1 the higher you chance of knocking them out.

Things that can help with this include;
-Big guns. Because what can't they solve? Just remember to swap to pistols when got rid of most of their health though :steammocking:.
-Neural Feedback gene mod. If they won't stop sticking their hand (mind control) in your cookie jar (head) put a mouse trap (deals damage while also putting all their other abilities on cooldown) in there.
-Neural Damping gene mod. Less chance of their powers working on you and immunity to being mind controlled.
-SHIVs. Most of their psi powers don't work on robots. Send one or two of these in to soften them up before you then bring in the rest of the squad to finish them off.
-Mind shields. Can only be made from the bodies of ethereals you already failed to capture (or died after the interrogation). Does what it says on the tin.
-Gas grenade. For when you just want to knock off another 1-3 points of health from them for the most chance to knock them out cold.
-Flashbangs. So the buggers can't try to run away. While the gas grenade can also do this, this does it better.

If you're at the end of the game story-wise, regular UFO missions should always have an Ethereal + 2 Elite Mutons in the control room. If you know exactly in what room they appear on each ship size, you can set up a nice ambush for them.
Also, a Sniper critting with headshot (using the Plasma version ofc) should leave an Ethereal with 1 health or so. Can't remember if Ethereals have a different amount of health depending on difficulty though.
I enjoy giving Mimetic Skin to my Snipers, allowing them to easily set up ambushes by themselves. But that is a costly investment.

Update: I managed to do it by using a Blaster launcher rocket and an alien grenade. Brought the zap chance up to 95% and got the bugger.

I have noticed that the interrogation room behaves differently while the interrogation is in progress when compared to previous aliens. The chamber shields and supporting cables are bathed in a purple glow, the cables are shaking and the blast shield keeps moving, as if the thing is hammering to get out!

With what little we know about how Dr Vahlen conducts her....interrogations.... That's not all that surprising :steamhappy:.
