i liked it though, more realistic, next is long war for me.
So, the marathon seems to be working vise versa for me, making things much faster. Did anyone else encounter such problem? Any known fixes?
And the aliens doesnt seem to be that hard effected by marathon mode at least at the beginning.. you will have floaters/thinman/seekers in second month but mutons will get theyre big gun later and heavy floaters/elitemuton and sectopodes will appear much later so if you get a lot of scientists and build some labs it can be an advantage to play marathon.
thats wath i expierienced in my only marathon pleythrouh in EU.
Lies. No way you could afford enough satellites (due to double cost and build times) to mitigate the increased amount of terror generated.
You are aware that impossible/iroman/all second wave is winnable right ?
=)
That's the whole point of the optional settings,to add challenge, you don't use harder difficulty settings to make the game easier, the second wave options aren't broken,in fact they work as intended.
=)
See, I don`t agree with that. Second Wave is supposed to make the game play differently, not simply make it harder.
I see your point and concede that it is only my opinion I express.
True true, second wave options do serve the purpose of tailoring the games experience,in fact some options can make the game easier by degrees as well.
I sometimes forget myself when it comes to difficulty verse good old fashion fun, entertainment and story fluff. lol
=)
Considering your second satellite costs you well over $500 with all second wave options enabled, no it's not.
EDIT: Actually I take that back, if you direct me to some Youtube or archived TwitchTV streaming where I can watch more than the "combat episodes" that people like to upload and claim it's undoctored footage I "might" believe you, but if I don't see them allocating money in the geoscape as to how they could possibly afford their second, third, let alone NINTH sat, that's a garbage claim.

This is DefenderofSouls Twitch channel, checkout his past broadcasts,he has a fantastic win/loss record against I/I/all second wave and even adds extra challenges. His last stream had a few hundred viewers watching him succeed.I have personally watched him defeat I/I/ all second wave three times.

just so you don't have to search or scour the videos/vods for what you'd like to know.
Satellites are purchased in bulk, meaning they'll only ever be the price of the first purchase. This is afforded by selling everything on the grey market that isn't absolutely, positively needed to finance a one time shopping spree.
You need 7 satellites to cover the minimum country retention requirement.
EDIT: because I got the links backwards. lol
=)
Well then good sir, I shall get to viewing! Thanks for the links.
EDIT: He even has I/I full second wave options with only 4 man squad. Whaaaat?!
DefenderofSoul was definitely the top Xcom player on Twitch in my opinion, his calm, polite manner and eagerness to answer questions from chat was a great draw for viewers.
If you have a good look into the past broadcasts you'll even find his campaign failures,at least he used to upload them,I havn't checked in a while.
There are others that I could attempt to search for again and provide links,as I lost all my bookmarks due to a fire.I use these two links because,Ticks was the first ever video documented EU I/I/ASW win and I recommend DoS because, well just check him out and you'll understand why ....
=)
