Same I want it but not that bad, the orginal is ok, and from what I have seen, just not enough new stuff to buy it at that price. If it was 75% off I would of grabbed it for sure, guess I'm waiting till xmas to get it.
Hmm, just reading through some user reviews on metacritic and lots of ppl are saying EW is more like Addon/DLC rather than a true game expansion - i.e with EW you have the same storyline as EUnknown, same beginning, ending, characters etc but just new toys mech, meld etc.
Def. doesnt sound like good value for money as it priced the same as the full game.
you get mechs + equipment, genetic modifications, new research objects, new maps and a new third enemy faction with different missions. maybe not worth the full price but on sale definitivily
XCOM Enemy Unknown $7.49
Enemy Within $9.89
Slingshot $2.30
Soldier Pack $1.64
So based on this absurd pricing, Enemy Within should be priced at 16.49 - 7.49 - 2.30 - 1.64 = $5.06.
What a joke. I only own EU and the Soldier Pack. So if I want the "Complete Experience", I need to spend $12.19? Which is only $4.30 cheaper than the complete package?
Crazy, crazy marketing. Instead I just won't buy anything at all. Will just wait until EW goes on sale for $5.06 or less, since clearly that is what it is worth. It'll hit that price one of these days.
The majority of hardcore Strategy gamers (core market) has already purchased the base game and will only be looking to add EW so ....that has the highest price.
EUnknown is priced lower to bring in new players who maybe havent tried the game yet (much smaller market) now in 2014
Pricing model makes perfect business sense - just not very considerate to the core group of returning fans that love the game and will buy the expansion regardless
oh cmon dont ♥♥♥♥ in your pants because of $4
To use your car analogy, it's like buying a car for $20,000. Then a few years later it's on sale for $5000 and includes a kickin' sound system, or you can buy just the sound system upgrade for $3500. How is that unfair to anybody? Hint: It's not.
If you ever buy something and don't expect that it will sell for less in the future then you're an idiot.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown + The Bureau: XCOM Declassified $8.49
XCOM: Complete $26.39
DLC Total - $22.54 USD, $16.49 for Enemy Within.
This pricing is a joke, they should make Enemy Within DLC cost $10 or less =(
I've been checking out games currently $5 or less (some examples):
- Company of Heroes (Best WW2 RTS)
- Rome Total War Gold Edition (Simply Legend)
- Fall Out / New Vagas
- Trine Complete Edition
- Max Payne Complete Edition
etc. etc...its actually heartening to see people putting thought into making good decisions.
