Thank you for Linux support!
Works great on elementary OS with NVIDIA graphics.
Thanks so much for this wonderful game being available on linux. I bought all of the dlc because of the games linux port. I've played for an hour or so and it runs well and looks great! I'm really looking forward to buying more linux games.
I don't know much about XCOM, to be honest... all I know is it's regarded as a good game, and adding linux support just earned my support. :) I've got a bit of a backlog to go through games-wise before I get to playing this, but I really appreciate the linux love. Thanks guys.

Your OS and grahics card are both unsupported however other people on ARCH have been playing without any issues so it's likely something with your specific setup that is causing the issue.

Send us your spec and install details plus any logs and we can have a look, although we don't support other distros (just Ubuntu 14.04) we are keen to try and get as many people on unsupported OSs playing if possible.
Thanks!

You were absolutely right! My Nvidia option Anisoptropic filtering (in Antialiasing Settings section) was set with flag Override Application Setting. I simply put the tic off - and all is OK! Thank you very much for this game and especially for linux port.

Thanks for playing the Linux version!

Your graphics card is under the minimum spec but reading your settings I'd try dropping the resolution, the way the graphics works on the lower powered cards we have found that dropping the resolution to a lower setting (lets say 1280x720) can make a large difference compared to the other effects.

Thank you for advice, I set such high preferences just to check the limits of the performance for rather low-end PC configuration and I could say that even at 20 fps the game runs enough smoothly to be comfortably played for me even under such conditions. So I completely satisfied by results, I don't indignant and I'm not disappointed with the performance under conditions mentioned above :)

I hope other linux players will share more detailed descriptions of their hardware in case of their successful experience of running of the XCOM too and it helps to collect enough statistics for adjust the official linux system requirements toward less powerfull GPUs by comparison stated now.
Works out of the box on Manjaro XFCE 64-bit. My specs are fairly modest and I find the performance to be more than acceptable.

OS: Manjaro XFCE 64-bit, kernel 3.12
Intel Core i3-530, 8GB RAM
Nvidia GT430, drivers 331.79, resolution 1366x768

Many thanks to the devs on a job well done.
Thanks for native linux version! You are great =)
will it work on 32 bit system or is it 64 only?

(I honestly don't know why i still install 32bit)

Just logged into steam at work and didn't find 'Enemy Within' on my DLC list at all... What sorcery is this? O_o

First it never downloads, now it's gone altogether...
First of all, I would like to thank you for making a Linux versión.

I played only 5 minutes and I detect two problems:

- When I launch the game, I see a popup, and when I press in the "button" of Enemy Within, nothing happens.

/media/DATOS900/Steam/SteamApps/common/XCom-Enemy-Unknown/xew/binaries/linux/xcom_ew.sh: liña 39: 8424 Abortado («core» xerado) ${DEBUGGER} "${GAMEBINARY}" $@
Game removed: AppID 200510 "XCOM: Enemy Unknown", ProcID 8424

-In Enemy Unknown the sound is very bad. I hear like a metallic interferences in the sound.

I'm use Ubuntu 14.04 with Intel i5 3.3Ghz, 8GB RAM, GTX650 and a Soundblaster X-Fi

EDITED: I played the game in other computer (Dual-Core E5200 @ 2.50GHz × 2, 4GB RAM and Nvida Geforce GT44 )with an integrated soundcard and don't have the second problem. The game works a bit slow and with frezzes.

The performance for me is really bad even on everything low. And when the game just hanged my whole system and had to hard reset. Looks like unreal engine 3 is not meant to be on linux, dungeon defenders was a similar port.

Edit: I zeroed out that choosing video option when ingame causes game to freeze.

what are your specs?
I already have EU and the first 2 DLCs, but I'm now going to buy EW and I intend to recommend XCOM to everyone I know. It's been months since I've been this excited about a port! Thanks so much
Thank you so much! Bought complete edition. On my Gentoo is excellent.
