Thanks. I have DirectX 11 according to DXdiag - can't tell if it is plain 11 or 11.1 or not (Just downloaded 11.1 and it says it is already installed). I have 8GB of RAM so that should be enough. I am using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and my display is 1600x900. I wonder if any of those don't work with this game.
Ah OK, I finally got it to work. I had to disable Kaspersky Anti-Virus which is odd since I also have Kaspersky on my desktop and it did not interfere with the program installing DirectX on initial run. My desktop is WIndows 8.1 though not WIndows 7 so I wonder if there is a difference in the way these anti-virus programs work depending on what version of the OS you are using.
Anyway, thanks a lot to everyone who replied. Based on the replies, I delived further into this issue than I normally would have.
A little bit late but when a game installs DirectX on first start it's not installing the whole DirectX 1X.X package, but merely the slightly customised ones that would make Microsoft's download too big if all of them were added into the main package. IIRC of course
Been reports that Kaspersky is not an anti-virus to use, interferes too much with games and programs and the computer.
