SCOPE FTW
Just wondered what the consensus is on this. The scope attachment with its +10 aim seems to clearly outperform any other added inventory item especially in early/mid game. The only thing that might compete with it is if you have the upgrades that allow multiple uses of single use items (ie 3 grenades/3 medpack uses).

Comments? Thoughts? Is there ever any reason not to fit the scope instead of any other item?

In fact, it depends on the difficulty of the game. On the veteran and below, it really doesn't make much sense to use something else. But on an impossible difficulty, where luck is always on the side of aliens and the numbers are lying, the rules of the game change. I tried to give examples based on my experience:
1) Scope - If you are playing ironman mode (so you can`t save-load), you are still going to miss in the earlygame a lot, and you cant even get close to the enemy most of the times (on the hardest diff of the game), bcs you are going to activate new enemy pod, and there is a lot of them.
2) Grenade - So you kill enemies with granades and rockets until you can really commit killing aliens in close combat or roll a dise, or there are no explosives left. Or you can use grenade to remove cover and get even better scope. But sectoids die with a single grenade on lower difficulties, so it`s unique for imposible diff.
3) Armor - Armor is mainly used to exceed the HP with which you can be killed with one shot. Again, mostly for imposible ironman and only if you know what to do and why, very niche.
4) You need a medkit at least in the second month of the game, since the seekers will deal damage anyway. If you are unlucky with enemy spawn (8 seakers lol), and there is no medkit, you are either dead or you will lose soldiers.
5) I can`t remember using anything else within first 3 month/

I am a big sucker for the granades simply for their reliability and their ability to reduce cover.
given I will also want a medikt for the medic the scope is usually just a third option for me.

The numbers are, in fact, not lying precisely on Impossible difficulty.
Nah, thay are, in no world I can get 10-11 50% missed shots out of 12 every 3rd mission of my campain and like 4-5 every other. This is not happening on every other diff. I even tested the odds with enemies shooting at me for like 30 campains. And it's not always only about aim, sadly.

Don't make assumptions. I am writing about my personal experience on my particular computer, and at a distance of 60-70 campaigns. I can say directly that the RNG is either broken or lying, and also indirectly or directly depends on the diff level. And I'm not the only one who has such problems
