Windows 11 Issue Launching Game

I know a previous post said the game worked now, but mine is still stuck in "updating executable". Any fixes?

I've tried:
1. Verify integrity
2. Re downloading
3. Clearing the Steam Cache
4. Downloading Steam redistributable
5. Installing directly from microsoft; DirectX and Redistributables (For older ones it says i already have a pending download and never installs.)

Edit: Fixed the pending download issue and installed redistributable packs from 2005 - 2022 (current)

I have exactly this problem. Other games in my steam library are starting normally, no idea why this one is different.

Ok Finally fixed that damn trash bug just go to your Xcom folder then go to the Binaries Folder then Win32 folder then find XComgame.exe right click on that exe; go to properties, go to the COMPATIBILITY tab, then TURN ON "Disable Fullscreen Optimizations” then just double click the file and the game will start. After the first time of starting then the game will work fine from starting it in your Steam Library by clicking on the Play button.
For me the folder is here “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\Binaries\Win32” but easier way to get to it is to your steam library right click on XCOM: Enemy Unknown then select Properties then go to Installed Files then click on Browse and it will take you to where you game is installed.

After about 20 attempts, I did the following:
-install game from 0 DOES NOT START!!!
-verify files
-go to the game folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\Binaries\Win32
-right click XComGame.exe
-just check the box "disable full screen optimizations"
-run XComGame.exe
steam will install directx and that's it FINALLY!

You just repeated what they said didn't work for them
