Report a translation problem
What I did was something that was already recommend in another thread.
First I went into the Games Folders and searched for the XcomGame.exe / XcomGame1.exe and the XcomEW.exe / XcomLauncher.exe in the binaries/Win32 Folders. I set them to Compatibility Mode with Windows 8.
Then I returned to steam and switched the language to french.
I started the xcomgame.exe from the Win32 Folder and the launcher popped up, selected Xcom Base Game and it started normal. But in French obviously.
Closed the game, turned language back to german, game downloaded some files again, added the "-nostartupmovies" command to the launch options and started again.
Game runs without any problem now.
Tried it and it really does the same... no launcher appears and the game simply stops.
