Enamy Within:
UPDATE 12/09/13: After investigation, we’ve discovered that a number of players with crash errors on XCOM: Enemy Within are attempting to run the game at lower than minimum system requirements. XCOM: Enemy Within requires a dual-core processor to run. XCOM: Enemy Unknown could function on single-core processor machines, but was not designed to do so. XCOM: Enemy Within requires a dual-core processor to run.

I had the same problem, where the ending cinematic crashed the game. I tried multiple things, then I noticed, that the movies filetype (.bik) got associated with a media program I downloaded a while back (for dvd movies). I uninstalled that program, and then the ending cinematic played properly.

Thanks a lot m8! The problem was indeed VLC media player and associations!
I figured these were the movies causing issues, as the log files always cut out while trying to load them.
Log files here if you want to check what's happening - at the end of the log file it shows it crashed while loading movies:

I simply replaced
When it actually plays, it does so without the talky bits, and it actually feels more impactful. Watch a Youtube video if you want to see the full ending sequence.
This *seemed* to fix the bug, but maybe I just got lucky while loading. At least it makes the ending quicker so you can try it a few more times without throwing your keyboard out the window :/
