forced tactical withdrawal is in the spirit of the game, so yeamebbi a good idea
Also somewhat annoyed. Seems to be a combination of the instakill mechanics of the Chryssalid and the "Spam Overwatch for 50+ turns" mechanic of the Seekers in Enemy Within.
Have you ever heard of the Greater Hive Queen? It's a maxed-out boss chryssalid in Long War that is guaranteed to spawn in an October or November Terror Mission. It's twice the size of a MEC, has more health than a Sectopod and to top it all off has Lightning Reflexes so you can't overwatch it, which it uses to soak up overwatch shots for about 12 regular chryssalids.
Good times.
Here I'll post the video.

they mention a human civilian that transforms into a giant monster. I recall there being something else... that spawns lots of zombies
The cyberdisky thing: gatekeeper.

No kidding. Two Rocketeers, bug pod charges in, hit them with a rocket. They're still up. Hit them with a second rocket. They go down. Breath sigh of relief. Next turn four more pods reveal and surround entire team. Alt+Tab, close game, go play something else.
ah well whatever.
