Make your soldier speak their native language?

Hey, i've read somewhere that you can make your soldier speak their native language. Is it true? How can you activate this? I just started playing xcom.

That is a feature in XCOM 2, I don't think it exists in this one.

I think you need Enemy Within for this. There's a button in options that enables the possibility to change heroes' language in customization.

Yeah i took Enemy within too. I took the complete pack as there's a promotion. Where do i have to go exactly for language customization?

Yes, you can do this only in Enemy Within.

yeah theres an option to make new soldiers have the language pack to match their flag. not the default and apparently not EU. Here I'll check if you can do it in EU.

yeah its not an Option in EU, but it is in EW. Just check the box in the audio tab.

Isn't it just a customization option for your soldiers? Like changing their name?

Ok to make it simple and stop all this guesswork: its a gameoption implemented in EW, not EU, not soldier costumisation. and it only works for soldiers from nations that speak a language that the game was localised for of course.

those customisation options only work if you got the "native language" option (under voice/sound i think) checked. if you dont, it will stay the language you are playing the game

You can try use mods from Nexus.com. I found one for flags in EU. EW have all I need, language, menu, flags so I'm good. XC2 have more.

Before you play any further: If you select Enemy Within in the launcher, you'll play ALL the game, plus the Enemy Within content. The Enemy Within option isn't an extra campaign or anything like that, and unless for some obscure reason you abohor the EW content, there's no reason at all to play Enemy Unknown if you have EW.

It's also in the game options menu, the same place you find resolutions, subtitles etc.
