Bummer! A UFO event is making my Long War game crash :(

It happens with this one UFO that pops up. Another pops up right around the same time, but I think this one in particular is the one that's bugged. If I try to advance time, the game will crash.

I can however sit in Mission Control and watch as time slowly passes.

So I've tried just sitting and letting it slowly tick by hoping the UFO will go away but it hasn't. I can't deploy fighters in that region because there are none there. I tried trasnfering one to that hanger and when it got there, I think it made it crash.

SOO...I've tried going back in save files to try to prevent this from happening but the sad thing is I think I'm going to have to go WAY back so I can get fighters, likely upgraded, to that region.

Sure kinda sucks cuz it's Long War and I'm likely 10 hours in at least even though I just got my first laser sniper made. So starting over...AGAIN...is a lil daunting.

ACTUALLY, I just recently beat that hard one, "Gangplank" I think it is, maybe that has something to do with it.

I think it's likely a "specific event" kind of UFO event, perhaps. Sucks to start over...

I hope you find a fix. After defeating gangplank it'd suck having to fight the stealthy cyberdisk again

Bro, thanks for sympathizing. I went to an earlier save, got fighters to the region, same day July 5 that bugged UFO comes up. My first fighter gets it down to almost shot down...

My second fighter takes off.....game crashes. It's seemingly the first Medium size UFO event/crash but it absolutely seems bugged no matter what I do or how far I go back.

As a fellow Xcom'er, thanks again for feeling my pain, lol. Because we both know, I'm likely gonna start from scratch again and it absolutely has to be with Long War.

I mean..........maybe I hsould just do a vanilla run of Enemy Within again?? Or brave Long War one more time?

If you're pissed at long war atm just I'd run a normal EW run. Oh and by any chance are you running any additional mods other than long war?

I've experienced problems in general with this game but nothing like this before. Maybe it could be a mod conflicting with the long war mod?

Its a fresh install on a new win10 machine with no other mods :(

Sucks, because X-com crack is so strong, I'll likely have to start over and the multi-class crack of Long War might be too hard to resist again!!!

ok so I just found out what was causing the issue for me, I had a mod that added more maps to the game, and that caused conflict with LW, after uninstalling it, the UFO no longer caused a game crash
