You do realize I was about mod(s) for Enemy Unknown NOT XCOM 2?
Yeah, I've never even played XCOM 2... didn't look all that interesting to me. Long War was made first for XCOM EU/EW, then later they made one for the sequel, too, I guess.
Well that's too bad, XCOM2, XCOM2 Wotc and long war 2 mod are fantastic, also with the workshop you have endless replayability like "a better advent" mod that will add new ennemies, Chosen buff to fight something like a boss on some missions, XCOM2 was free to play at some point. LW doesn't change the gameplay much unlike LW2.
I'm sure I'll try it, sooner or later.

I'm not sure if you're being facetious or not, but I'm going to bet that I know exactly what this does, because it's something that has annoyed the Hell out of me since the day it started, and Firaxis never fixed it...
Basically, back before EW came out, and the game was straight up vanilla-vanilla, killing an enemy and triggering their death animations was instantaneous, and smooth. Then, when the expansion came out, they released a patch that, for whatever reason, sometimes caused a delay. So, if you've ever shot an alien to death, and watched its model duck back down behind cover for a half a second, before it then stood up, turned around, and then sometimes even turned to face the unit who shot it before finally dropping dead, like it spontaneously died a few moments AFTER being shot... that behavior started with the expansion. I noticed it as soon as it came out, and it has always boggled my mind that they never fixed it.
