corpses in long war...
im playing long war and, uhm... i have 162 floater corpses, 74 thin men, 47 mutons, and... 14 sectoids... is that normal?

I normally sell excessive numbers of corpses. how long have you been playing? starting with that many corpses would not be normal

if you haven't sold any corpses aside from council requests I'd expect that to be approaching normal.

sold only like 10 total corpses xD. i knew long war was hard (especially since i never played normal EW or EU, just xcom2), but i expected there to be more sectoids than anything else

Sectoid corpses become requested by council requests after you do the first alien biotech research. where you can trade a pile of sectoids for scientists to jumpstart your research

early alien stunning research for the arc thrower also requires alot of sectoids. 15 apparently

and captive aliens are a different item over corpses. but you can easily run thru your entire stock of sectoid corpses trading them for scientists to the council.

sell a hundred or so floaters lol. youll make lotsa money and im not sure ive even seen anything other than autopsies needing their corpses (correct me if im wrong, havent gotten that far through game recently)

This website will tell you how many you'd want to keep or sell alien corpses.
You have a lot of corpses, so I'd recommend selling most of them, but keeping some for the Research/Foundry requirements (if you are doing fine in finance however, you may keep them).

TC was asking more was the distribution of corpses normal. not whether or not he could sell corpses, though yes he should probably sell off some floater corpse stock though he does need a bunch for armored fighters and shaped armor.

So this topic reminded me I wanted to restart a long war campaign. I uninstalled because a campaign gets tedious at a certain point.

Anyways played thru to August. And I find the TC's numbers a bit extreme but still within the realm of 'normal'

Month 1 is mainly sectoids, maybe some drones. Month 2 starts with the floaters and thin men.

His number of sectoids for a month of sectoids seems low, but if he did the 25 research and maybe threw some corpses to the council its not that bad.

its abnormal but not outside the realm of RNG.

if you want to discuss long war strategy, the short of it is, build motion detectors, build labs and build chem grenades.

also don't blow up all your alloys like an idiot.
