64-bit version for macOS 10.15 "Catalina"?
I've been playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown on my Mac, and it's been working great! However, it's a 32-bit game, and the newly released macOS 10.15 "Catalina" does not support 32-bit apps at all.

I know that it's an older game, but is there any chance that we can get a 64-bit Mac version so that us Mac gamers can continue to shoot some aliens to save the world?

Hi Man, I've got the same problem with this game and Company of Heroes 1.

No - not a chance - only way is to have access to an early version of the 32bit OS

Why no chance? A lot of games was updated to 64bit for Catalina. Why not this one?

Feral Interactive (dev that ported the Mac version) are not going to port it for a 64bit system - unless they're going to get paid by 2K - very unlikely

Has there been any official update from Feral on this?

Yes their is: "We hope to update XCOM: Enemy Unknown to 64-bit after the launch of macOS 10.15." https://mobile.twitter.com/feralgames/status/1176121089304485894

This gives me some hope that a 64 bit update will be coming sometime in 2020.

Let's hope so! I successfully avoided owning a mac, until this year, when it was required by my college. My MacBook Pro came with Catalina, and not being able to play most of my games SUCKS!b:salty:

Why wouldn't the O/S support 32 bit applications when the hardware is obviously capable? That seems a little. . . backwards.

32bit has a lot more security issues apparently. So Apple drop it. That said its about time, 32bit needs to die off anyway.

Unless you want to use one of the millions and millions of programs that are 32 bit. Then you're hosed. Strange that Windows doesn't have these 32 bit security flaws.

it does, more so than mac's.

Most programs for mac were updated for the change, its mostly games that werent as dev's dont see a point in returning to dead (for them) games. Some dev's did, most didnt, especially games like this that were ported by a 3rd party. They wont do update it unless they're paid to, and Take Two wont update a game thats dead and has a sequel thats on the verge of death as well.

also, lets be honest here, this game is ancient by gaming standards. Can't expect them to support the game endlessly
