Does XCOM Enemy Within make the game run worse?
I have a low end laptop so I'm wondering if this expansion makes the game run worse? The base game runs okay on my laptop. The base game is very optimized. How optimized is the expansion?

EU max spec is EW min spec, some of the advantages when u have a real physical copy of the game and not buyed it in steam, u can see this sayed specs...

Err no,because enemy within doesn't upgrade graphics or doesn't add anything performance intensive.

Ignore Stardustfire, he is wrong. Specs for both games are exactly the same.

So u have both physical copys too with the packages and the BIG FAT STICKERS that tell u the specs? If so and urs say other than the ones on my packages ok, if not stop talk bs and call ppl that know it "wrong".

The minimum and recommended specs listed on the Steam store appear to be identical for the two.

Identical to Enemy Unknown.

Could have sworn EW required more RAM at one point. or a bigger RAM on the video card or something. *LOOKS* Yeah EW specifies more RAM on the video card.

The only difference is that the amount of graphics card memory required was never mentioned for the digital release on steam. Enemy Within hard copy states 256MB minimum and 512 recommended gpu memory.

I found no difference whatsoever between the two.
My laptop is an I7 with intel graphics and other than being a bit pokey at times, it was completely playable and ran the same with or without the expansion.

My housemate ran them on a less than ideal system (not below specs but framerate and 'cams' performance were the not best), and they seemed to run identically.
