The steam servers are too busy to handle your request for Xcom.... error code (2)

Anyone have a SIMPLE fix for this, not really feeling like going on a quest to fix it tonight.

I get that when the game crashes and it automatically wants to restart. Gives that message all the time... waiting a bit usually fixes it, I think it wants to upload the save files to steam cloud, but also wants to start the game, but not sure. Either way, restarting steam should fix it if nothing else works...

That's a really misleading error message, usually. It's the error number that coems with it that matters. What was the error number?

Does this happen during installation, or when trying to run the game? If trying to run, is it failing like 1% into the "finishing installation" bit you get on a first run?

Yeah it is, it is driving me up th wall, never had any game do that 1% finishing installation

I'm having the same issue except it claims error 41, despite still saying the Steam Severs are too busy. It goes to download at 1% then errors me instantly. I suppose waiting is the key?

Validate game files. Happens to me sometimes too and this usually does the trick....

Manually clearing the client blob file or manually uninstalling Steam (having backed up the steamapps directory) and reinstalling are most commonly reported solutions to that. Some sort of inconsistent state has been reached by the client, generally.
