80% isnt 100% and misses and hits can happen in any order without control, but it will still be
~80%, same with alll other accuracy calculations.
Also; bad things happening feel twice as bad as good things happening feels good, see that people always harp on bad things happing in this game instead of the good things that happened?
I've had an Assault take out 3 aliens with 34% accuracy in one mission, and that was an awesome moment. I got extremely lucky that those few 34% chances were hits.
A single sniper held off a squad of aliens as the rest of my crew were retreating to the extraxtion zone with the VIP.
You gotta stop worrying about the bad things and be thankful for the good things!! :D
But yeah 85% not a 100% shot, I even missed a few 98% and saw 4 aliens missed 4 shot in a row point blank on a flanked soldier, so it happens.
people can call me noob all day long but I find normal more fun because skill is rewarded over luck. And I neither have the time nor patience to practice until I can play comfortably on classic. That's just not enjoyable imho.
tl'dr bad RNG is not fun.
You and Kordarus may be right...it MAY have just been a fluke. After my post yesterday, I had a couple of instances where Overwatch fire tagged targets I thought they'd miss and the enemy missed where I thought I was dead. Perhaps I'm just seeing streaks on both sides. Not like I've played for hundreds of hours or anything to get a really good sample size.
Thanks.
Skill is needed to be ready for the worst outcome, even if luck is against you. People believe that RNG games don't measure skill but forget how much control they have against the random effects.
