Do mods allow me to grab the achievements?

There aren't many mods for the game though
If you enjoy the game, you should try out Long war I guess... but it's only for experienced players... it's not that difficult, especially in the beginning, but it's good to know the core mechanics of the game for long war

What about mods that add even more cosmetics or even skins? Or mods that speed up the gameplay? I'm used to classic roguelikes with zero animations which provides a very smooth turn based experience.

To be honest, I don't quite remember. But the amount of mods for this game is very limited. XCOM 2 has much better mod support and it even has Steam workshop.

But for this game, there are a lot of UI changing mods, and even some cosmetic stuff. I remember one that added more detail to the soldier's armor and weapons. You can find them all on nexus

And I don't think you need a mod to disable the action cam. There should be an option for that in the options menu.

Yeah, I disabled that right away. I'm talking about things like sniper taking about 4 seconds before firing the rifle for example but that's ok.
