Long War: Zombie Apocalypse
I got a terror mission. I walked into the room where there's a bunch of civilians and a couple pods. In walk 10 zombies. I kill them. Another 10. I kill them too. Then a pod of crysalids.

Then more zombies. And more zombies! The zombies never end!

What even is this mission and how do I get through it? Preferably without having the country leave the council because all their civilians who were not turned into zombies were eaten by the civilians who got turned into zombies.

Seriously. I'm here to kick the alien scum off my planet, not to re-enact the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Walking Dead.

It's because you're doing it wrong. Stop blaming the game for your own mistakes. Watch and learn kiddo.

Yeah, that's not helpful at all.

just keep kiling the zombies
they dont take cover and tend to clump up
so anything to shoot more or explosives
so kill them before they reach the sivvys
sivvys also take cover sometimes, this helps getting use out of frag grenades
and dont get eaten

prioritize the zonbies that puke, puking means a chrisalid is going to hatch next turn

yeah....

Its a terror mission, its an easy terror mission. just lids and zombies. one lid pod starts active and starts eating civies, probably should kill that pod fast, instead of sitting on your hands.

you DO have motion scanners to bring everything up on scan?

you DID bring tons of rockets and AP grenades?

the zombies that don't become crystallids (the ones that start on the map and have the same sort of picture) not a real big threat, except for running out of ammo. they usually attack civies.

no corpse drops on the zombies just blow them up. probably just blow up the lids too, but try.

not sure how much help you can give someone here. sounds like you sat on your hands and the lids ate everyone.

don't do that.

but doing that's pretty stupid so not sure what you'll do when you aren't sitting on your hands letting the lids eat everyone.

That's what tends to happen when you let them run all around a map full of civilians and letting them kill them, turning them into zombies which turn into more chrysalids and repeat. That's why you kill them early.

This is so called zombie-terror or chryzallizilla terror. There is also, I believe, a robo-terror.

It seems easy only if you know that this is the one. Just bare in mind that black-shirt zombies do not spawn chrysallids (as Ashardalon's mentioned). So concentrate on eliminationg those "colorful" and chryssalids first.

Though: easy to say :) I got the mission with basic ballistics (maybe one laser). 15 black-zombies, each at 13 HP coming at your squad and maybe one grenade left. Phew, that was really tough to manage ammo... But I play with Red Fog, so I could crowd-control them by wounding.

In the zone would be great, but unavailable.

I didn't see it coming and wound up dug in inside one particular building while the zombies and a couple of lid pods just kept filing in.

I did it. I brought two assaults with Close Combat Specialist, an infantry with a shotgun, a rocketeer, two engineers, and a medic with super high mobility. Strategically, I have no idea how exactly I did it, but I did it. I think I may have gotten lucky and tripped the two crysalid pods early, which means the rest was probably just cleaning up the mess.

OK. Glad to know, I'm sorry if I seemed patronizing, I was trying to respond to the previous two posts that claimed just telling you to learn from your mistakes wasn't particularly helpful.

listing out various things you should have learned by this point..
